Zero Edit Series #1 | what was i thinking?

Suddenly thought of this somewhat lazy idea to post selfies one day at a time with zero edit aka no work done on the shots. Who can resist a little bit of editing these days to be honest. I myself edit almost all the photos upload of social media, a little bit of lighting, a little bit of saturation etc etc...

I'll also be sharing some of the techniques or products I used for the makeup looks posted on this series. So here it goes~!

This is legit my natural makeup look. Got all my basics down - foundation, concealer, brows, flash of blush and nude lips. I always feel that I look good with this sort of look if you could call this a look.

Foundation

For my foundation, I use a mix of the YSL All Hours Foundation in B30 and H&M All Day Liquid Foundation in Ebony for my exact shade. I've been shifting in between my usual shades so mixing is my jam these past months. Generally I don't have an issue with mixing foundations of different brands together.

I used to be slightly skeptical about mixing foundations, whether it will break me out and the what-nots but... the truth is: if you're diligent about cleansing and removal your makeup, you won't really breakout. Of course, if you have hyper-sensitive skin, allergic to certain ingredients, this probably wouldn't be true for you.

My Skin

Feeling a little type-y today so I'd go ahead to share with you my skin type. I'm 26 this year, skin's been quite predictable the past 2 years, I'd say. Except for the monthly hormonal breakout and occasional cleaning mishaps (like didn't thoroughly cleanse it), I don't usually breakout.

The sad part is: when I do breakout on those days, my scars has always been my skin issue - hyper pigmentation and dark scars (possible cause by excess of melanin to the damage tissue). There's really no shame in that, it's just how our bodies work individually. And I said no shame cuz I was super insecure about it, I felt like I wasn't pretty, in fact, I used to think that I'm ugly. BUT NOT ANYMORE HAHAHA.

Makeup

This is my stay-home/not-going-anywhere makeup. It's the easiest to do and takes the least amount of time. I rarely use mascara because my eyelashes never stayed curled for more than 30 seconds. 😞 Also, I loved a nude lip, like literally the kind that barely looks like anything on my lips. Hehe.
